Kayley

I was born at 11-06am on New Years Eve 2004 which is why my mummy and daddy called me Kayley.  My mummy said that although it is not the same spelling as a Scottish Celidh she just wanted to have her own little Kayley with her that night while everyone went out to celebrate the New Year.  That was seven months ago now.

My mummy and daddy did not know that I would be born with Down Syndrome so they have had a lot to learn over the last seven months.

I have 3 big brothers, Scott 10, Ahren 7, Ross 5, they just love making me giggle, I think they have just realised how much fun I am going to be.  They play with me and talk to me all the time, my Granny and Grandad just dote on me as I am their only grand-daughter, all our family and friends just love me to bits.

I had to have heart surgery when I was 4 months old to fix 2 holes and a duct in my heart.  It took me a long time to recover and I spent 8 weeks in hospital after my operation.  I seem to be coming along in leaps and bounds now, although I still have a little bit of oxygen to help me along.  My mummy is taking me to see the cardiologist next week and they will talk about trying to take the oxygen away.  That is why I have little plasters on my face in the most recent picture but I will ask mummy to send you an up to date one when I am a bit bigger minus the plasters and prongs.

I am a very happy baby, with a loving family and my mummy and daddy tell me that I am their beautiful baby girl with a smile that could light up the darkest of days.
